Hurricane

Okay --- so I'm listening to Good Morning America as I get ready for work, and I'm hearing about how the people who "couldn't afford" to evacuate New Orleans were all herded into the super dome. I'm looking at all of the faces and noticing that they just so happen to be people of color and I'm hearing the reports about how they are wondering if the roof will hold, how they had to usher the people out of their seats and down into the end zone where it would be "safer" and how there is a waterfall coming through the roof and I am just getting mad as hell. My God. Well at least it is official. Poor people's lives are not worth *&^% in this country. God forbid we should have the national guard do what they are supposed to do and get those ten thousand people out of there. Oh yeah...how could I forget? They are all in Iraq dying for their commander in chief.

I share your outrage.

I am so glad SOMEONE does, Dr. Kear. It is outrageous to me that they do not have an evacuation plan for that city that includes making provision for the poor.

Now that Katrina has passed, we can be glad that New Orleans did not take a direct hit. Even with the glancing blow, parts of the roof were torn from the Superdome. If a direct hit had been sustained, the whole place might have been a death trap. Scary.

After a second look, I thought my last comment needed re-wording!

Thank God the people are alright. I can't imagine what they must gone through.

By the time the next storm comes, I'm sure there'll be plenty of Dubyavilles for them to go to....

I see by the way you have expressed so much sympathy for those in your community that you have a heart for the poor and the those too ignorant to find their way in this complex world we live in. I admire your testimony as to the many services you are involved in.
However I am a little perplexed as to how it is you are so dedicated to so many noble efforts and still have so much time to articulate such a plethora of liberalism on so many issues.
Your hyperbolical positions are amusing and sometimes downright laughable.
I hope you continue to pour forth your tirade, since most often those of such a bent as yours shade their attacks with some little nuance of logic. But you are a stereotypical transparent democrat whose emotional ideological mores have consumed their intellectual foundations.
Again I'm sure you're so busy serving the poor and beggarly elements of your community that you will in all probability not even have time to respond to this comment.
Furthermore, I'm sure your ego will not allow this comment to be posted for it would bring into question the viability of your honesty, and reveal the real you.

Well, that was rude.

I don't always agree with Angevoix, but it's possible to disagree and still be civil, "Dr. Durt". Ad hominem arguments are chaff.

Time to turn off the "anonymous" comments, I think, Angevoix.
