Oh What's Goin On?

Mother, mother
There's too many of you crying
Brother, brother, brother
There's far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today

Father, father
We don't need to escalate
War is not the answer
For only love can conquer hate
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some understanding, yeah, today

Aw, picket lines, picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me so you can see

Oh what's going on
Tell me what's goin' on

Mother, mother
Ev'ry body thinks we're wrong
Baby who are they to judge us
'Cause our hair is long
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some understanding here today

Good God

Just to let you know--it's still there in my head. :) I'm a big earlier Motown fan, and this song by Marvin is great. It's a shame how he lived his life and how it ended.

How it ended?? His own father shot him dead. The song, well, what a jewel, hey? But the unexamined capitualtion to the sentiment? Cuidado!!

Hee Hee. Well, I'm glad that you at least like the song...I wouldn't want to torture anybody!

Geeze, I just read my own post and thought, dang! I was laughing at what you had said, C. about the song still being in your head... just incase there was any confusion. Mental note to post after the morning cup of joe.
