C.S. Lewis

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

Interesting quote from St. Clive. "Moral busybodies" annoy the hell out of me. In fact, I hate when a fellow Christian (usually of the Evangelical persuasion who thinks the Bible answers all questions) speaks code language for judgment and is happy to tell people (and I've been the recipient of such telling...though not much anymore as I've long since removed myself from much of their perceived influence) where they are wrong or sinful and preface their comments with something like, "I'm saying this with grace" or "I'm giving you grace," blah, blah, blah. Yeah, right. Grace rarely translates that way.

LOL. Yes, no one can lay on the crap as thick as church folk. :)
